Is it his puppy dog good looks or his comedic timing that makes Freddie Prinze Jr. such a force to be reckoned with? More importantly, who cares? While Not Another Teen Movie claims to be an all-inclusive parody of the high school genre (from The Breakfast Club to Bring It On), it’s really a 90-minute homage to all things Freddie. Did we say homage? We meant jihad. NATM might as well have been called Die Freddie Prinze, You Talent-Deprived Hack. It’s not fair, but it is funny.

Oh, and there’s a plot. Or seven, actually. But NATM loosely centers around high school football star Jake Wyler (Prinze-alike Chris Evans) as he tries to win the heart of the “hot ugly girl” (Chyler Leigh). You see where this is going, right? There’s the usual naked exchange students, geeks sneaking into locker rooms, biting social commentary (minorities=funny, cheerleaders=evil), and rampant lesbianism as you’d expect in a teen flick, but this time, it’s funny on purpose. Even if Freddie’s not laughing.
