Hollywood has a long history of vengeful badasses, but these are 12 guys you really don't want to piss off.

<strong>12. Marv (Mickey Rourke), <em>Sin City</em></strong>- Motivation: He awakens to find Goldie murdered and the cops pointing the finger at him. At least he got to hit it one last time.
Talking the talk: "I'm gonna find that son of a bitch that killed you. And I'm gonna give him the hard good-bye."

<strong>11. El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas), <em>Desperado</em></strong>- Motivation: Drug lord Bucho murdered the woman he loved. We bet he ruined a couple of El Mariachi's guitars, too.
Talking the talk: "Bless me, Father, for I have just killed quite a few men."

<strong>10. William Munny (Clint Eastwood), <em>Unforgiven</em> </strong>- Motivation: While trying to impart some justice to prostitute-killing cowboys (and earn $1,000), Munny's best friend is killed by a hard-ass sheriff, who then displays the body outside the town saloon.
Talking the talk: "That's right. I've killed women and children. I've killed just about everything that walks or crawled at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to Ned."

<strong>9. Eric Draven (Brandon Lee), <em>The Crow</em></strong>- Motivation: On Devil's Night, a gang of thugs breaks into his apartment, raping his fiancée and murdering them both. He gets bonus points for seeking his revenge from beyond the grave.
Talking the talk: "They're all dead. They just don't know it yet."

<strong>8. Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson), <em>Death Wish</em> </strong>- Motivation: Muggers rape Kersey's daughter and murder his wife, turning him into a vigilante who lures and kills drug dealers and other lowlifes as retribution.
Talking the talk: "You believe in Jesus? Well, you're gonna meet him."

<strong>7. Michael Sullivan (Brad Pitt); Tommy Marcano (Billy Crudup); John Reilly (Ron Eldard); Lorenzo Carcaterra (Jason Patric), <em>Sleepers</em></strong>- Motivation: After crushing a man with a stolen hot dog cart (seriously), the group is sentenced to a boys' home, where they are gang-raped and beaten by the guards.
Talking the talk: "Revenge. Sweet lasting revenge. Now it's time for all of us to get a taste."

<strong>6. Jaws (Great White Shark), <em>Jaws: The Revenge</em></strong>- Motivation: We're not sure if Ellen Brody is getting revenge for Jaws killing and terrorizing her family, or Jaws is getting revenge for the Brodys being such pests. Still, it's got "revenge" in the title, so one of them is pissed.
Talking the talk: Chomp, chomp, chomp

<strong>5. V (Hugo Weaving), <em>V for Vendetta</em></strong>- Motivation: He was a guinea pig for a bioterrorism virus while imprisoned at Larkhill detention center, which terribly disfigured his face. 
Talking the talk: "What you have are bullets, and the hope that when your guns are empty I'm no longer standing. Because if I am, you'll all be dead before you've reloaded."

<strong>4. Dae-su Oh (Min-sik Choi), <em>Oldboy</em></strong>- Motivation: He's kidnapped and held captive for 15 years while being framed for the murder of his family.
Talking the talk: "I'm going to rip you limb from limb. And your remains will never be found. Why? Because I'm going to swallow every last bit."

<strong>3. Porter (Mel Gibson), <em>Payback</em></strong>- Motivation: His wife shot him in the back, leaving him for dead while she and his partner made off with $140,000 of the Chinese Mafia's money. 
Talking the talk: "Not many people know what their life's worth is. I do. Seventy grand. That's what they took from me. And that's what I was going to get back."

<strong>2. Maximus (Russell Crowe), <em>Gladiator</em></strong>- Motivation: After Maximus is granted temporary rule of the empire, disgraced heir Commodus burns Maximus' farm and crucifies his family.
Talking the talk: "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, general of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

<strong>1. Creasy (Denzel Washington), <em>Man on Fire</em></strong>- Motivation: A Mexican gang kidnaps (and presumably kills) the 9-year-old who Creasy was responsible for protecting. Or maybe he was just trying to salvage his manhood after becoming Dakota Fanning's nanny. 
Talking the talk: "I'm gonna kill 'em. Anyone that was involved. Anybody who profited from it. Anybody who opens their eyes at me."
