Before the advent of Comedy Central, we occasionally relied on real cops for laughs. Now Reno 911! delivers nonstop flatfoot farce, affording the network another recyclable masterpiece to throw in the pen alongside South Park and Chappelle's Show. And while you can expect to be assaulted by these episodes every third half-hour of the day, it's nice to finally be able to check them out in order and on your own time. Besides, Comedy Central's endless marathons don't come with commentary. Four episodes on this set interrogate the cast and crew on prosthetic booties, fake mustaches and sideburns, and where to draw the line on racial and cultural swipes. (Short answer: nowhere.) There's also over half an hour of alternate and deleted scenes that provide giggly outtakes and unaired exchanges that were too offensive for public consumption—just like real law enforcement officers!
