A great movie few people saw, Sexy Beast sounds like a porn film but is actually a gripping British gangster movie famous for being the first (and maybe only) time you’ll ever be afraid of Ben Kingsley—who also sums the story up best in the commentary: “The tale of a man who thinks he’s happy, so the gods send him the unhappiest man in the world.” Kingsley’s Don Logan—vulture-faced and vicious—is destined to become one of the greatest film psychos ever.

Once you seek out the DVD and see what we mean, you’ll probably be intrigued enough to listen to the commentary. A nice mix of anecdote and technical detail, it gets a bit actory in parts (Kingsley talks at length about motivations, actor relationships, and the like) but maintains your interest. However, the major selling point of this disc is simply the movie. There’s no excuse for missing Sexy Beast a second time.
