Give Jackie Chan a confused American sidekick—Chris Tucker, Jenny Love, Owen Wilson—and watch the magic happen! Or so he thinks. In the completely unnecessary sequel to Shanghai Noon, Chon Wang (Chan) and Roy O’Bannon (Wilson) head to London looking for the man who murdered Wang’s estranged father. And wouldn’t you know it? They run into Wang’s sister with a big hiiiiyah! A lame script and weak premise browbeat the comically gifted Wilson and are worsened by Chan’s garbled delivery. The Drunken Master can still kick ass in choreographed combat, but Knights is just another Chan movie in which the outtakes at the end are more entertaining than the movie itself. Which is unfortunate, because the last thing we needed was another reason to want this flick to end.
