Shaun of the Dead finally gives zombies the romantic comedy they've been moaning for in this genuinely funny, and equally gory, horror flick. Shaun (Simon Pegg) has a dead-end job, a lazy roommate (Nick Frost), and a bored girlfriend (Kate Ashfield)not to mention, his town is crawling with brain-munching zombies. As the dwindling group of survivors fends off the horde of pasty dead Brits and recruits more pasty living Brits, Shaun learns many important lessons about friendship, love, and how to kill the undead. (For instance, a cricket bat will do a lot more damage than the Batman soundtrack on LP.) British humoruncomfortable conversations, pratfalls, silly accentsruns step-for-step with gut-spilling until almost everyone in town is feenin' for blood. You'll spend your time either flinching or cackling, which is way more than we can say about the recent rollout of uninspired zombie flicks stumbling around in search of brains.
