Six Feet Under: The Complete First Season

It’s rare when TV offers up a completely original show like Six Feet Under. For HBO, it’s become common, and they’ve been pumping out DVD box sets of original shows to prove it (Band of Brothers, Oz, Sopranos, etc.). Six Feet, which focuses on a screwed-up family-owned funeral home, is depressing, funny, and specializes in making you feel uncomfortable…just like Three’s Company! The coolest part of this box set is the packaging, mimicking a coffin that rises when you open it. The extras are the usual—commentary on a few episodes and two featurettes—but this box set is kinda pricey, especially if you’re already paying for HBO every month.
