The Skinny: In case you missed the Oscars this year, this is that spunky little movie about the kid from the slums of Mumbai who gets on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" all for the love of a girl. It went home with the girl and all the gold statues.

The Good: if you haven't seen the movie yet, you'll be happy you waited for Blu-Ray. Director Danny Boyle (he of Trainspotting fame) keeps things moving with frantic action, a killer soundtrack, and moments of sincere humor that look glorious in HD (you won't believe how the diarrhea brown of the public toilets pops in 1080p). This is really an all-around solid movie experience. Also worth gazing at in HD? Freida Pinto.

The Bad: For some, the intense Oscar hype may have raised expectations to un-meetable levels. If you go in expecting to have your life changed, you may be let down. But don't lower the expectations too much, either. This is quality stuff, no question.

Best Extra: Although it's ultimately a typical "Making of" doc, the "Slumdog Dreams" feature is worth a look just to watch Boyle in action. The guy really is…well, make that was…an underrated director.

Buy, Rent, or Ignore: We're going to say purchase just because the movie is so good, but at very least rent it.
