South Park: The Complete First Season

As South Park kicks off its sixth season, its first is getting the commemorative treatment on DVD. Kind of. Laughs come in bunches with all 13 of the funny-as-hell original episodes—including classics like “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe” and “Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo.” As for extras, the only incentive comes from the extremely off-color introductions by Trey Parker and Matt Stone before each episode. Yeah, the Jay Leno skit will load you up with big-chin jokes for the next couple of years, but where’s that original Santa vs. Jesus Internet cartoon that started it all, or the BASEketball blooper reel? And the “classic South Park promos” turn into obnoxious ads for Comedy Central’s other shows. The episodes are reason enough to pick this up, we just hope season two includes material we haven’t already caught on TV.
