The Skinny: Forty-year-old man-children Dale (John C. Reilly) and Brennan (Will Ferrell) are forced to co-habitate when their respective parents (Richard Jenkins and Mary Steenburgen) get married. Far from sweet-natured doofuses, these two raging assholes embark on a game of one-upmanship that is, well, hilarious.

The Good: First of all, this is one of those movies in which you know it's stupid, it knows it's stupid, and yet, what do you know? You're still laughing. It has something to do with Reilly and Ferrell's total commitment to being mean-spirited dicks, and Jenkins' underrated comedy chops. The disc is loaded with special features, too.

The Bad: Do you need to see this in Blu-Ray? Probably not. The transfer is nice, but this is one of those times when hi-def really doesn't bring out anything. And the "unrated, extended" version of the film, at least upon a casual viewing, doesn't really seem all that different from the theatrical version.

Best Extra: We don't often say this, but the commentary track on this disc is hilarious. Still, we have to go with the full video for Brennan and Dale's rap epic "Boats 'N Hoes."

Buy, Rent, or Ignore: As far as we're concerned, your DVD collection can never have too many fallback, pop-in-anytime gut-busters. Snag it.
