Like all of the "girl power" movies, Stick It is the kind of thing teenage girls live for and you'll feel tremendously guilty for enjoying. Though it's packed with a cast of nubile youngsters who try to outsass each other by the time the credits roll, this one's not about cheerleadingit's about gymnastics. Specifically, it's about a rebellious ex-gymnast (newcomer Missy Peregrym) who drops out of school to hang with guys who are into extreme skateboarding and running from the cops. Then, it's like Al Pacino in The Godfather: Part III: Just when she thought she was out, they suck her back in. Of course, she causes nothing but trouble for her coach (Jeff Bridges) and teammates, but it's her plucky individualist spirit that makes her a babe worth watching. (The spandex costume also helps.) Hey, it is what it is, but in its own surprising way, it deserves a gold medal for originality, inventiveness, and style.
