The Skinny: An evil pseudo-military leader named Bison (Raul Julia, in his final role) takes some people hostage and demands eleventy-kajiliion dollars in ransom. Enter a team of brightly-colored fighters including William Guile (Jean-Claude Van Damme), Chun Li (Ming Na), and Sagat (Wes Studi). Oh, did we mention this was based on the video game?

The Good: Well, let's define "good," shall we? By the standard definition, this movie is not good. It's the opposite of good, in fact. But taken with the right attitude (and the mind-altering substance of your choice), it's definitely firmly in the so-bad-as-to-be-entertaining category. And, well, the costumes are generally right on in terms of mirroring their video game counterparts.

The Bad: Again, this is grade-D stuff from the get-go. It's also a shame that a great actor like Julia had to go out on this note.

Best Extra: Surprisingly, this is a pretty impressive DVD package. They've managed to dig up some quality behind-the-scenes features and bonus material—enough to justify its re-release beyond the upcoming reboot. As for best? What can we say, we're suckers for outtakes.

Buy, Rent, or Ignore: This is a solid rental for those nights when you just want some dumb fun. And the Blu-Ray edition sure is purty
