The Bourne Supremacy is an adrenaline shot of a movie that will have people who slept through the first one scrambling to catch up. Matt Damon returns as forgetful spy Jason Bourne, who must once again take on his former bosses when his idyllic “retirement” is violently cut short. What ensues is a rapid-fire succession of fistfights, brisk walking, car chases, and subsequent wrecks that’ll blow away even the most hardcore NASCAR fan. A feature called “Bourne Diagnosis” takes a serious look at the effects of amnesia—there are actually different kinds, like lacunar amnesia (the inability to remember a specific event), posthypnotic amnesia (memory loss sustained from, duh, hypnosis), and our favorite, Korsakoff’s syndrome (loss of memory due to alcoholism)—while separate features on the car chase and fight scenes should answer all those nagging “How’d they do that?” questions. James Bond is too old and Xander Cage is a joke—long live Bourne!
