The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly

Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, this legendary spaghetti western pits three men—the Good (Clint Eastwood), the Bad (Lee Van Cleef), and the Ugly (Eli Wallach)—in an unlikely partnership as they pursue a fortune in gold. We’re not telling you anything you don’t know, since this flick is required viewing for any passage into manhood. There are tons of reverent documentaries and features on the movie, the director (the masterful Sergio Leone), and even the music (il maestro Ennio Morricone). But it’s the 18 minutes of deleted scenes (revoiced by Eastwood and Wallach themselves) and an animated re-creation of an entirely lost sequence that make this set a must-have.
