Big Trouble in Little China (Blu-Ray)
Release Date: August 4
What it is: Only the single greatest movie ever concieved and executed by man. OK, we might be over-selling it a tad, but this endlessly quotable kung-fu goof is an undisputed classic.
Why you need it: Well, it's the exact same Special Edition DVD you have already, only this one's in HD. And, yes, that's reason enough.

Mysteries of Pittsburgh
Release Date: August 4
What it is: Based on the Michael Chabon novel (Pulitzer Prize winner, ya know)it's about an aimless slacker learning about life while hanging out with quirky people. In other words "An indie movie."
Why you need it: Sienna Miller is hot, but you can do better than this extremely cliche film festival fodder.

Sling Blade (Blu-Ray)
Release Date: August 4
What it is: Billy Bob Thornton's gripping tale of a retarded man and his love of French cuisine.
Why you need it:On Blu-Ray, Thornton's bottom lip appears to break the fourth wall and enter your living room. Pick it up if you don't have Sling Blade on DVD already (it is worth it), but if you do, you can pass. The special features are the same as the 2006 release.

The Soloist (Blu-Ray)
Release Date: August 4
What it is: Also known as the Robert Downey Jr. movie where he doesn't wear an weaponized suit of armor or blackface. Both he and Jamie Foxx are great in this story about a journalist attempting to help a schizophrenic musical genius.
Why you need it: Because the odds are you passed this up in the theaters. And Blu-Ray is as nice a format as any to play catch-up.

The Waterboy (Blu-Ray)
Release Date: August 4
What it is: We call it "Early Sandler." Here, he plays a "slow" Cajun boy who is good at sports.
Why you need it: Unless you are an absolute Sandler devotee (or, as they're also known, Rob Schneider), there's no need to have this in HD. There aren't even any extras on the disc.
