Since we know time is money, here's a quick handy reference guide to recent DVD releases that should be on your radar and, in many cases, on your shelf. Immediately.

The Last Starfighter: 25th Anniversary Edition (Blu-Ray)
Release Date: August 18
What it is: An undisputed classic, Starfighter is about a trailer park slacker recruited to fight an interstellar war because of his video game prowess. It gets none more 80s than that.
Why you need it: On Blu-Ray, the great-for-the-time special effects show their age and the image isn't as crisp as you'd like, but the disc does boast new featurettes that are worth a watch.

The Simpsons: The Complete 12th Season
Release Date: August 18
What it is: If, after 20 seasons on the air and 12 on DVD, you're coming in cold to this—congratulations. What does being defrosted feel like?
Why you need it: "Worst. Episode. Ever." Comic Shop Guy graces the cover for a reason, and you have to love the interior packaging modeled after the Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con.

Go (Blu-Ray)
Release Date: August 18
What it is: A comedy Pulp Fiction for the rave generation, Go is actually better than you remember, courtesy of Bourne Identity director Doug Liman behind the camera. It also stars a veritable Who's Who (Katie Holmes, Sarah Polley, Taye Diggs) and Who's That (Desmond Askew, Nathan Bexton) of 90s cinema.
Why you need it: The HD remaster will have your speakers throbbing and your ecstasy-muddled sense memory on overdrive.
