A mole in the secret service is plotting to kill the president. Michael Douglas is the loyal seasoned agent who's framed because he's banging the first lady. (In what movie isn't this grandpa screwing someone he shouldn't be?) Kiefer Sutherland plays Jack Bauer-lite, on the fence between busting his old pal Douglas and wanting to know the truth. Eva Longoria is not only hot (here's proof!) but is great as the newbie agent learning the ropes. It twists, turns and is a mildly tense but forgettable political thriller. It's nowhere near In the Line of Fire, but it does dig deeper into the actual job and the extras examine the perfection required of the few chosen to protect the president. Just don't bang his wife. Then again, if she looks like Kim Basinger, it may be worth the risk.
