If you bought The Simpsons: Season One because youre a diehard fan who wanted it regardless of the fact that the episodes were about as funny as a Ziggy comic, then The Simpsons: Season Two is an easy sell. You see, not only do you get some great special features, you get episodes that are actually funny. Season Two begins the Simpsons we know and love.
The only complaint we have is that these collections arent coming out on a monthly basis. Its a blast to see the first Treehouse of Horror or the first appearance of Comic Shop Guy, and the supplemental materials (tons of commentaries and interviews) ensure that youll be a walking Simpsons expert by the time Season 8 comes out on DVD. Also included for your amusement are some truly awful (but funny awful) tidbits from the shows history, such as Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart) dressed in a heinous Bart costume and hosting the American Music Awards and some ear-splitting music videos. (Remember Do the Bartman? Shame on you.) But all in all, this is a great addition to the library because, as we all know, they just keep getting better after this.
