Its hard, and hardly necessary, to release a worthy remake of a classic horror film, but The Texas Chainsaw Massacre delivered enough shredded skin and sprayed innards to pump new death into the franchise. Now the collectors edition of this full-gore tribute crams a meat lockers worth of cool extras onto two discs. Photos from the movies central crime scene come in the sleeve and deleted scenes include alternate endings, openings, and individual chainsaw mini-massacres. The Making a Massacre featurette starts with a history of the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre and works its way through the remake, even pointing out corresponding scenes from the original. Screen tests, a music video, and the original theatrical trailer pump up the special features before an examination of Leatherfaces real-life counterpart, Milwaukee murderer Ed Gein, closes out the creep.
