As if we didn’t hate the Freedomses enough, The Truth About Charlie features Thandie Newton (yay!) being chased around Paris (booo!) by Marky Mark with a French accent (wait, put the mouse down!). In this remake, there’s a lot of backstabbing, plot twisting, and bad acting—and now with the DVD, you get the original that spawned such a project. Other than 1963’s Charade, you can catch mind-numbing commentary by director Jonathan Demme, deleted scenes that thankfully missed the cut, and a making-of featurette that consists of Demme conducting a phony scripted interview in the back of a car with Newton. Mmmmm…figurative Newton.
