The Unit: The Complete Second Season

Release Date:
Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Star Rating:
★★★★½
If there was ever a show that properly honored the military and made us feel proud to be Americans, it's The Unit. Keep your 24s, Law and Orders, and CSIs, this is one of the best and most underrated shows on network TV. We tore through this second season in a matter of days because it's so cool. For those of you who haven't fallen into line and picked up the first season on DVD, it's about an elite group of secret Army soldiers protecting the world from every possible threat. You have no idea where a new episode will take you, but it's always smart, surprising, and kick-ass. Dennis Haysbert (President Palmer from 24) is still in command, pushing his team—yep, even that guy from Felicity, Scott Foley, holds his own—to even more dangerous situations. Whether it's infiltrating a Bulgarian jail to catch a terror suspect, protecting foreign dignitaries at the U.N., or dealing with a hostage situation in a school, this never seems to play politics, and sticks to the missions. Extras include commentaries and a few cool making-ofs, but you'll be popping back these 23 episodes like Pringles and taking time to rewind and watch these heroes in action.
