Drugs can't make you cool, but watching movies about drugs can, and Trainspotting is definitely one worth checking out. What's more, 28 Days Later director Danny Boyle's dragon run through Scotland's dingiest underground H dens produces a decidedly antidrug message. (Take that, Wal-Mart!) The director's-cut edition comes hopped up with a number of notable features about the making of this junkie journey. Commentary with Boyle and star Ewan McGregor trots out plenty of smack facts, and deleted scenes also come equipped with commentary. "Retrospective" splits interviews with the filmmakers from '96 and 2003 (including Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh), "Behind the Needle" instructs all of you kiddies at home how to shoot an injection scene with a prosthetic, and a '96 Cannes recap interviews stars and audience members following the flick's debut. Bringing up the rear is a brief making-of, featuring anecdotes and the movie's funniest clips. This is the good shite!
