Do the movie versions of the Watchmen characters remain faithful to their comic counterparts, or trample on all of your hopes and dreams.
SILK SPECTRE- Zach Snyder has updated Silk Spectre's aerobics-leotard-slash-art-class-smock costume, giving actress Malin Akerman a more streamlined and curve-enhancing new look. The bee-color scheme, as you can see, remains intact.
OZYMANDIAS- Seeing as the comic version of Ozymandias—the so-called "smartest man in the world"—wears curtains salvaged from the close of Studio 54, Matthew Goode was probably relieved to find he'd be getting fake abs with only a minimum of purple. As were we.
RORSCHACH- Snyder knows this is the one guy you don't need to touch. Rorschach's detective-style getup coupled with his disturbing mask (which changes shape in the film as it does in the comic) is perfect. Underneath it all is, of course, equally disturbing actor Jackie Earle Haley.
NITE OWL- Patrick Wilson stars as a less spare-tirey Nite Owl II. Any comparisons to Batman are entirely intentional—even Alan Moore had the Dark Knight at least partially in mind when he wrote the original comic.
THE COMEDIAN- Another one that needs no hefty overhaul. The Comedian, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is the cigar-chomping sumbitch whose murder kicks off the story's plot. His Punisher-style body armor and shit-eating grin are preserved perfectly from page to movie.
