The press notes call Wicker Park "a romantic thriller." But we feel a lot more comfortable with "the worst Josh Hartnett vehicle, including Hollywood Homicide." The brain-farts begin with Matthew (Hartnett) throwing his life, career, and extremely attractive girlfriend out the window to pursue the lost love of his lifea woman who left him two years agobecause he thinks he caught a glimpse of the back of her head in his hometown. Once the search is on, we're pummeled with a barrage of flashbacks that blast an already disjointed and flimsy story into made-for-TV territory. As the coincidences and timeline leaps pile up at an alarming rate, this meandering, time-bending thriller tacks on an unnecessary 45 minutes of bad acting, worse plot twists, and even worse Matthew Lillard comic relief. If you're looking for a good thriller, you better park your ass in a different theater.
