If Win a Date With Tad Hamilton tries to impart anything, it’s that love really does work in mysterious ways. That, and Hollywood is officially running on crack pipe vapors. Let’s meet our love triangle: Mr. Tad Hamilton (Josh Duhamel), a movie star with looks, money, and recyclable model girlfriends; Rosalee (Kate Bosworth), whose bangs let us know that she’s from rural West Virginia; and finally Rosalee’s lifelong friend, Pete (Topher Grace), whose shy, bookish manner belies his ability to get girls (though, not nearly as much as his bookish face). Pete is in love with Rosalee, but won’t dare tell her. When she wins a date with the hunky Hamilton, Pete fears he’s lost his beloved forever. (Yay! Thirty-minute movie!) Only Rosalee doesn’t sleep with Hamilton. (Booo! Go get some popcorn; this ain’t over!) Intrigued, Tad very plausibly moves to rural West Virginia in search of Rosalee’s virtue and moonshine stash. If you don’t see where this is headed, then you deserve to find out for yourself. The sooner you do, the sooner you can drink it away.
