With World Trade Center, Oliver Stone has made the most riveting, moving and emotionally heartfelt film of his career. This isn't just the best movie of the summer; it's easily one of the best of the yearor any other for that matter. There's not a false note in it. The scenes of New York's tallest buildings coming apart and the alternating terror and calm on the faces of the remaining victims are painful to watch, but because of the skilled directing of Stone, we do. Nicolas Cage and Michael Pena are magnificent portraying ordinary cops in extraordinary events. World Trade Center shines a welcome light on a group of everyday heroes who, in risking everything to save others, turned America's darkest hour into their finest and ours.
