In a world where pants are baggy, hats are backwards, and servings are served, dancing is a way of life. The headspins begin with two high-schoolers who can’t stop prancing around in unison unless it’s to play basketball or deal drugs. Along the way, they outdance everyone in the neighborhood until they’re recognized as the most flamboyant gangstas in L.A. But, in the end, this isn’t so much a movie about dancing as it is a movie about absolutely nothing. There’s some nonsense about sticking together and not hooking up with your best friend’s sister, but for the most part, the scenes skip around in no particular order until contractually obligated guest appearances from Steve Harvey, Lil’ Kim, and Jackée have been properly honored. At which point we drifted off to sleep, with visions of 227 dancing through our tortured heads.
