David Fincher can't make a bad movie. Se7en, Fight Club, The Game, Panic Room, this mofo has proven he's the best there is; so it's no shock his epic take on the Zodiac Killer is another exercise in perfection. We came into this movie not really knowing anything about this unsolved case that spanned more than 20 years, and left obsessed about it. The two-and-a-half-hour running time on the original version may be intimidating, but we wanted more. And this version gives us four extra minutes! (Our ass thanks you, Mr. Fincher.) His attention to detail, the storytelling, and the overall look and feel is astounding. Fincher manages to make a parked car on an empty road or someone pushing a mail cart interesting. Once again Fincher gives us his customary overloaded special editions with more extras than anyone can imagine. Seriously, his obsessive nature makes it seem like the Zodiac killed a member of his family. Hey, whatever gets the job done, right?
