Cypress Hill’s last few efforts sounded as though the boys had taken one too many hits from the bong, but this two-CD set proves that most of the group’s faculties are still intact. MCs Sen Dog and B-Real storm around on disc one as if someone stole their stash, dropping pissed-off rhymes with authority as DJ Muggs carves out wild, cinematic beatscapes behind them. Unfortunately, disc two’s rap-rock fusion is more than a little tired, but even at its dodgiest, it’s still good to know that Cypress Hill has emerged from the haze with a vengeance.
