Veruca Salt scored its only big hit five years ago, with “Seether.” Apparently bottling up all that rage has finally gotten to frontwoman Louise Post, as she tosses her dirty laundry on the lawn and sets fire to it on Resolver, a 13-song rock’n’roll tirade against ex-bandmates, ex-boyfriends, and anyone else on her shitlist. “She didn’t get it, so fuck her,” Post howls on the menacing rocker “Born Entertainer,” a thinly veiled kiss-off to departed Veruca cofounder Nina Gordon. She’s no happier with ex-beau Dave Grohl, doing everything but cursing him by name on the atmospheric “Pretty Boys.” Fortunately, revved-up hooks and bittersweet melodies make her rants fun for the rest of us. That’s right, baby, just let it all out.
