British duo Olive concocts a brand of lush trip-hop that, like scented candles and edible panties, can seem to make a lot of sense during late-night bedroom antics. Unfortunately, their second album wilts a bit in the harsh light of day. Trickles slinky Sade-gone-electronic mix is loaded with moody melodies and sultry grooves that glide along effortlessly enough, but the by-the-book beats are as about as exciting as the Valium-prescription pap youd hear wafting from the speakers at your mothers health spa. And thats the pits.
