The Marvelous 3 are a throwback to when guys joined bands to do drugs and meet women who wouldn’t otherwise throw water on them if they were on fire. With one hit already under their belts (1999’s “Freak of the Week”), the sneering alt-rockers make their big rock-star move with ReadySexGo. At times it sounds like the unholy union of Night Ranger and the Knack, but beyond the riffing-by-numbers is a wicked sense of humor and some virally contagious guitar-pop. While this album is hardly a revelation, getting your kicks still counts for something.
