Kid A is Radioheads special child, an oddball indulgence of electronic art rock. Hey, give the British quintet credit for going all the way: Pushing the sprawl of 1998s critical darling, OK Computer, even further, swirling bleeps and pings take center stage here, only occasionally yielding to soft guitar strumming, traffic-jam saxophones, and Thom Yorkes weepy vocals of alienation (Im not here, Ive lost my way). What these songs lack in structure they make up for in spaced-out grandeur. Cool, hypnotizing, and definitely not kid stuff.
