On his latest batch of silky-smooth seduction serenades, R. Kelly promises the ladies he’ll “stroke you up and down,” “make your body feel like heaven,” and, er, “feel on your booty.” And with lush layers of strings, choirs, and flamenco guitar, his grooves are nearly as sticky as his words. On “I Wish,” a moving paean to his dead mother, Kelly actually manages to tame his libido for a few minutes, but most of these slow jams are aimed directly below the waist: “I’m just an R&B thug, babe,” he testifies on one panty-dropper, “trying to get some ass.” Hi, Mom!
