Formula for disaster: 1. Take the music of an overrated band with a now-dead lead singer (The Doors); 2. round up a mix of new artists (Smash Mouth, Creed) and washed-up bands (The Cult, Stone Temple Pilots); 3. ask said artists to do their best Lizard King impersonations while the still-breathing members of The Doors churn out virtually unchanged 30-year-old arrangements behind them; 4. cover your ears.
