Look Into the Eyeball

Though his penchant for suits nine sizes too big sometimes made him look like a world-class fool, former Talking Head David Byrne is anything but. On his latest he two-steps from Motown to Cape Town, unearthing an eclectic array of melodies, beats, and grooves. Despite the world music influence, Eyeball is more than a glance at Byrne’s vacation photos. It’s less “out there” than many of his previous solo efforts, delivering the exotic soul of distant lands without ditching the comforts of home.
