Cypress Hill like to smoke dope, rock, and rap—in that order—and their sixth toke-out is a tribute to all of these influences. “Intro” is a blend of Hendrix licks and bong-hit noises; “Southland Killers,” featuring N.W.A’s MC Ren, is straight-up gangsta; “L.I.F.E.” is a slice of Peter “Legalize It” Tosh reggae; and “Lowrider” is bouncy Chicano funk that would make War (not to mention Cheech and Chong) proud. True to the green muse, Stoned Raiders is a bit scattered and often silly, but it sure feels good while the buzz lasts.
