You want rock? Andrew W.K.’s got rock. Hard and loud, fast and abrasive, the muscular blasts on I Get Wet are playbook power anthems that beg for headbanging. The songs, mostly about the positive social values of partying (“Party Til You Puke”) and chicks (“Girls Own Love”), are almost transcendently simple. It’s been nearly 20 years since the bands that Andrew’s aping—Kiss, Judas Priest, Twisted Sister—were in vogue, showing the self-styled wild man to be as studied as he is spontaneous. It’s ridiculous, and it’s also ridiculously catchy.
