Flame-haired country siren Allison Moorer could coast on her looks and allow a few Nashville hacks to guide her down the path of least resistance toward Shaniaville. But with each successive album, Moorer heads further in the opposite direction. Her latest proves she’s every bit the rebel her sister Shelby Lynne is: easygoing folk-pop (“Let Go”) mixes with Exile on Main Street rockers (“Going Down”) and haunting country dirges (“Dying Breed”). And not that we care, but she looks good doing it, too.
