Call it magic or luck, but Primal Scream managed to turn what would seem like a mess of feedback-drenched guitars, swaggering vocals, and buzzing acid house beats into a harrowing, electronically-charged piece of garage rock. But not without help: guest Robert Plant’s wailing harmonica energizes “The Lord Is My Shotgun,” and even rail-thin model Kate Moss lends her vocal stylings (you read that right). It’s weird stuff, but fans of the Stooges, the Chemical Brothers, and recreational medication will eat it up.
