Prince
The fact that Prince doesn't care what you or the current music industry thinks couldn't be more evident than on his latest album, 3121, an exercise in musical diversity few of his contemporaries can come close to matching. "Lolita" resurrects the Symbol's baby-making musical hits of the '80s, whereas the tracks featuring his latest sultry-voiced protégée, Támar, prove the petite Purple One is ready to take over the R&B airwaves. The rest of the album is peppered with horns, congas, and a synthetic-funk that could hold its own against any Neptunes-produced dance floor beats. Though the tracks as a whole may lack a coherent musical style, 3121 is pure Prince.
