The Donnas have always come off like the Ramones younger sisters working through a healthy Mötley Crüe fixation: bratty, loud, lewd, and refreshingly reckless. But on Gold Medal theyre growing up, and the results arent as much of a turn-on as youd think. Their playful four-on-the-floor stomps give way to sinister, reverb-drenched kiss-offs (Gold Medal) and sneering pop-metal taunts (Revolver). Its darker, but somehow its not quite as much fun.
