Get ready for hot fun in the summertime with Billy Corgan! Or not. Never exactly cheery, the former Smashing Pumpkin keeps it gloomy in his solo debut. Guitars are buried under chilly atmospherics, but the songs flatter that thin, pinched whine Corgan calls a singing voice. Sure, we could do without that goth Bee Gees cover (“To Love Somebody”), but Corgan continues to do what he does best—sulk indoors.
