Veteran Queensbridge duo Mobb Deep's careers were toilet-bound, if not already there, when they signed on to become the newest addition to the G-Unit stable. Their first 50 Cent–helmed project brings a welcome bit of pop bounce to the pair’s bleak ghetto fables. Amid the drug deals, gun talk, and G-Unit cameos are some actual love songs (OK, sex songs). The production is aces, and even when the rhymes aren’t (check out 50’s rhythmically challenged hook on the otherwise delightful “Pearly Gates”), Blood Money flows just fine.
