Any one that has spent any time around the NYHC scene is already well-familiar with Madball's brand of straight-forward sound. It's crazy to think that their first aptly-titled EP Ball of Destruction hit the shelves almost 20-years ago, and their sound has stayed refreshingly true to its city-grown roots. Infiltrate the System is unmistakably a Madball record. The tempos aren't too fast but the guitars are exceptionally heavy and the lyrical messages are exactly what you'd expect from guys who have seen more shit in their lives than 20 average suburbanites combined. The recording is a little different than previous records, making the band sound a little more edgy and metallic, which may be intentional, or may just be the result of a bigger recording budget. In the end, you really should give this thing a spin, if not because it's really good, than because every member of the band could pick you up and snap you in half like you were a hand full of Slim Jims.
