Ever heard only the drums and bass on, say, Inner City Blues by Marvin Gaye? No? You should; it's pretty mindblowing. The artist may not have wanted you to hear these isolated tracks outside of the context of the finished song, but the unaccompanied performances are undeniably fascinating.

Not only that, but these tracks, in an internet age when almost every track ever released, and many that weren't, can be found with a minimal amount of online sleuthing, represent one of the final frontiers of classic rock n' roll bootlegging. It's difficult to find these things. So when you actually get your virtual hands on one, it's quite satisfying.
