Few things are as American as rock n' roll. And few things are as American as an ice cold beer. Or rather, BEEEEEEEEE-EEEEEER!
Kid Rock likes the rock n' roll, and he clearly also loves beer, because he's
going into the beer-making business: the Michigan rocker plans on creating and selling his own brand of beer. The beer will be "an American lager" and will be suitable for parties, Pistons games, and BBQs all summer long. Snobby sots need not apply!
The best part? The new jobs created by this venture. The lucky brewery is Michigan's own
Michigan Brewery, located in tiny Webberville, twenty miles east of Lansing. Currently, the brewery employs eight people. That number is expected to increase to at least sixty, possibly far more than that. That Kid Rock brand certainly has some power. Michigan Brewery is understandably getting a kegload of tax breaks from the state, and Michigan itself is suddenly in the news for something that is not the on-the-ropes auto industry, or the woeful and win-less Lions. That's what Kid Rock, and beer, will do to people's attitudes.
And clearly, people are excited. Michigan Brewery's notes that job applications won't even be considered until after mid-March. Kid Rock has already dipped his toe (eww) into the development of the new brew, which may appear as early as this spring. Soon, we'll all be able to drink in the raw awesomeness that is Kid Rock.
