Amazing Grace

At first glance Amazing Grace seems like an odd title for an album by pasty white Brits. Yet Spiritualized’s vocal king Jason Pierce has always seen their songs essentially as gospel music. It all makes sense as he works his croaky voice with swelling orchestras and soaring choirs, never sounding pretentious in the process…which in itself is a minor miracle.
