Baby I'm Bored

It’s been a while since ex-Lemonheads frontman Dando has done much of anything, as the title of his latest “solo” effort (the last few Lemonheads discs might as well have been solo albums) suggests. Sounding, appropriately, like he’s just been roused out of bed, Dando makes simple, strummy, hangdog pop that’s somehow as irresistible as it is unsurprising. The mix of acoustic guitars, piano, and low-key percussion depicts heartache with wry humor. It’s nothing new, but in Dando’s case, change is overrated.
