Look who's back: Shady's back. The first video from Eminem's upcoming Relapse album is making the rounds. It's called We Made You. Let's check it out, shall we?
The video features Eminem in costume, exploring the current pantheon of throwaway media. Em as Tony Romo dry-humping Jessica Simpson? Check. Em as Bret Michaels? Check. Em as Mr. Spock? Check. And on and on and on. Amy Winehouse, or rather, "Amy Winehouse," makes an appearance, as do Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, who make out in a Transformers truck. And yes, the recent Lohan/Sam split does leave the video's topicality somewhat dated, even on the day of release. But who cares - it's just one blip on a radar screen of commentary. And yeah, Eminem does drop some killer/funny lines. Rhyming "middleman" with "hospital again" is tongue-twistingly fun to utter, and "Wowsers, just made a mess in my trousers" delivers the child-like humor that has always kept Eminem's more high-brow musings grounded.
